Just thought I'd create a topic page for the awsomeness that is the Daedalus class ship. Post what your favourite features of them are or what you think could be done to improve them.

Personally the only problem I had with them is that even after the asgard refits the shields depleted too quickly and although it was cool how many hits the Odyssey took in the ark of truth. In Atlantis for example the shields drained far too quickely for my liking.

Personally, i liked the look of the X-303 (Prometheus) better.
But i will admit that the Daedalus ships were very very cool.

I really liked them originally when they had only human weapons and no energy based weapons.
I thought is went really well with sowing how the humans had progressed and distinguished them from all the other ships.

I was glad when they introduced the Plasma Beam weapons in "Unending" (rest in peace Asgard....sigh...)

cause to me at least, the railguns were kinda pathetic as a main weapon in my opinion.

are we the only space-faring race to use nucear weapons, coz
basically a direct hit with no shields by a nuke will destroy pretty
much any ship.. with an awesome explosion

well the nuclear explosion would destroy pretty much anything depending on the alloy or metal used in creating the hull of the ship the daedalus would be destroyed because the nuclear weapon would be designed to destroy anything that earth can develop

The writers on stargate are great but I have to complain becasue instead of the ships travelling at the speed of plot like most sci-fi shows the ships on stargate have shield-strength of plot.

yeah that can be weird sometimes - you do sometimes think shouldn't the shield have failed by now?

but there you go thats the writers for you!

BTW. I thought the ships went down WAY too easy in Enemy at the Gate, they should have been evasive like they were in Be all my Sins Remem'berd and been able to do slightly more damage before being taken down!  Angry  Grin

If that is true why don't the nukes with a  naquahdah core even penetrate the shield of Aphophis & Klorels ships is the season 1 finale?
