The Russian SG team brings back a man who claims that his people are being experimented on by Nirrti. SG-1 investigate where the experiments are conducted, with the Russian SG team as backup. The inhabitants worship Nirrti as their god and savior from a terrible plague. SG-1 attempts to use the same device Nirrti used on the people to reverse the mutations, but the people turn on them at the arrival of Nirrti.

Former Colonel Harry Maybourne comes to Jack with a proposition: Jack gets him a presidential pardon and Harry shows them the advanced weapons cache that Simmons was trying to get to. They go through with the deal, but Harry attempts to double cross SG-1. He manages to get through the portal leading to the cache, but with one unexpected item, Jack. They find themselves in a field and Harry’s zat is missing. Jack, however, still has his P-90. Harry reveals that they are not at a weapons cache, but rather a utopia. He meant to live out the rest of his life there and believes that there is no way back.uth.

SG-1 brings back an Ancient device, the purpose of which is unknown. When Jonas touched it the device activated. Upon reaching the SGC Jonas sees a large red insect fly into a wall, but no one else can confirm his sighting. The SGC is put into lockdown, but nothing is found. Jonas suspects that the Ancient device is causing his hallucinations, but to his dismay it is set to be shipped to Area 51. When Teal’c and Jack see the bugs as well, General Hammond decides to let Jonas take a crack at deciphering the Ancient text on the device.

The Asguard home galaxy has been over-run by the replicators, and they ask for SG-1’s help. The Asguard believed they had trapped the replicators with a device that would slow down time, but it seems to have failed. They need SG-1 to enter replicator infested space, find the time dilation machine and reset it. When SG-1 land at the designated point, they meet 5 individuals, who control the replicators. The others reveal that they are an evolution of the replicators – composed of micro-cellular replicator blocks, and modeled on Reese, who created the original replicators. These others have reset the time machine so that time is moving more quickly within this area of space – to allow them to evolve and build an enormous army that can invade the rest of space. The minds of the team are probed by the first 4 others. However, the last member of the others (called Fifth) seems reluctant – he is described as weak by First, the leader of the replicators. He was an attempt to model Reese more fully, but the mistake will not be repeated. Carter senses his reluctance to probe her mind, but invites him to do so – and they agree a plan. Fifth will reset the time dilation machine to run slowly, and he will escape with the SG team. While time is passing slowly for his brethren, the Asguard will have hundreds of years to fix the mistake in the others. Fifth has to leave later than the SG team to avoid arousing the suspicion of the others; Jack orders Carter to set the timer on the device to activate earlier than Fifth has been told. SG-1 escape successfully as the time dilation device reverses the trend within the area of space, and makes time run much more slowly. However, Fifth is caught by his brethren, and realises that Carter had broken her promise not to leave without him. Carter and Jonas regret using Fifth’s humanity against him, but even though Jack seems uncomfortable, he declares that Fifth wasn’t human, and they made the only correct choice.

A television news crew has unearthed information about an Air Force project called “Prometheus”. They believe it to be a generator, but know it uses Trinium, an element not found on Earth. In order to keep them quiet the Air Force allows them to film the X-303, a spaceship based on Asgard technologies, otherwise known as Prometheus. Things turn south when the news crew arm themselves and hold the Prometheus, as well as Sam and Jonas, hostage.

SG-1 is negotiating a treaty with the inhabitants of Pangera. The have sometime miraculous to offer – a drug they call tretonin that can cure any ill. But there is a catch: the drug replaces the the user’s immune system and must be taken forever. The Pangerans want specific world coordinates in exchange for the drug – and some of those places are the homes of powerful system lords. They won’t explain why, but it clearly has to do with tretonin. Then the Tok’ra, called in to help solve the problem, make a startling discovery about the ultimate source of tretonin.

Told from the point of view of a stereo-typical scientist, Jay Felger (in love with SG-1). While on a standard science “baby-sitting” mission, SG-1 is captured by Khonsu (who is secretly Tok’Ra) in order to relay information about Anubis. Felger and fellow scientist, Simon Coombs disobey O’Neill’s order to return to SGC and sneak onto Khonsu’s ship. Khonsu’s head Jaffa, Her’ak turns on Khonsu and kills him, keeping SG-1 to turn over to Anubis in the process. Felger and Coombs, manage to help SG-1 escape and return to the SGC.

A team associated with Stargate Command and posted in Antarctica makes an astounding discovery – a perfectly preserved, apparently human woman who has been frozen since the Antarctic Stargate was first deployed. Then they discover she is still alive, and work to revive her. But her revival costs the team: they and SG-1 succumb to a deadly disease the woman apparently carries. She can save them but not herself. And the effort exhausts her; she may not be able to save everyone before the disease claims her life.

Stargate Command discovers a Goa’uld Ha’tak in Earth orbit. Exploring, they discover it is the ship where Anubis briefly imprisoned Thor. At some point, Anubis’ forces set the self-destruct and abandoned the ship, but something has halted the destruction and brought the ship to Earth. Jacob/Selmak opens the computer core so the team may learn more. Then the ship begins to descend towards Earth. SG-1 must discover what’s going on before the destruction of the Ha’tak threatens Earth. And hopefully, escape the doomed ship themselves.

Osiris engages in space combat with Thor over a violation of the protected planets treaty. Freyr arrives at the SCG bringing news of Thor’s death and asking SG-1 to mount a rescue mission to retrieve an Asgard scientist from the planet in question. Upon their arrival Heimdall informs them that Thor still lives and has been taken captive by the Goa’uld. O’Neill and Teal’c transport over to the mothership to rescue him from the clutches of Anubis.

SG-1 arrives on P9Y-4C3 in the country of Kelowna, one of three countries in an uneasy state of cold war. Sg-1 investigates the country and discovers that Kelowna’s technological level is similar to that of the United States in the 1940s, and that several Goa’uld artifacts were found near the planet’s stargate. From the artifacts they find a powerful Naquadah variant called Naquadria, which they are turning into a weapon. An accident leads to the Naquadria nearly exploding and Daniel Jackson saving millions from certain death, but he exposes himself to dangerous levels of radiation. Back at the SGC, Daniel lays dying until Oma Desala, an ascended being the team met on the planet Kheb, appears to him and offers him the chance to ascend.

15-year-old creates stunning Stargate panorama out of LEGOs

When I was 15, the most I could make out of my LEGOs was a gun, and even then, you probably wouldn’t have been able to recognize it. Luckily, some 15-year-olds are a heck of a lot more talented than I was, like Sven Junga, who used LEGOs to create not only a spaceship—the Daedalus from Stargate Atlantis—but also an amazing diorama of the ship landing.

And it turns out that’s not the only sci-fi artifact re-created by Junga. Check out his Flickr feed for more of his awesome LEGO pics.

MGM Teeters On Brink Of Bankruptcy

MGM Studios, which funds a significant portion of the production of Stargate Universe, may not be able to successfully sell itself to a new set of investors. It may instead be forced into bankruptcy reorganization and debt restructuring. As stated in The Hollywood Reporter, MGM is $3.7 billion in debt.

With MGM debt recently trading at 60 cents on the dollar, that would mean the studio would have to sell for more than $2.2 billion to fully pay off lenders. But almost nobody sees the Lion fetching that sort of money…

If a top bid for MGM fails to find enough support among its more than 140 lenders, the only other option would be a debt restructuring. That probably would include a prepackaged bankruptcy reorganization by which lenders would morph into owners and present owners would see their stakes heavily diluted.

StarGate Universe To Begin Filming Season Two March 10

According to Stargate Universe executive producer Joseph Mallozzi on his weblog, filming for Season Two will begin with the fourth episode “Pathogen” “a week from Wednesday” (March 10 2010).

“Pathogen” is written by Carl Binder and will be directed by a “special guest director.” I wonder who the special guest director is?????

Casting for this episode has most likely already started, since we’ve seen the audition sides for Ginn and Simeon, which have been recently released. At least one of these characters will have a multi-episode arc at the start of season two.

The second half of Season One has yet to air, so it’s difficult to talk about returning cast members without going into spoiler territory. Suffice it to say, there is a high probability that we’ll be seeing all of the members of the main cast return to the Vancouver sets for filming.

He also holds secrets that are desperately sought after by Earth and those on board Destiny — secrets he would die or worse, kill to protect. He’s an antagonist for several episodes before he finally comes into serious conflict with Robert Carlyle’s character Rush and they are forced to face off. RECURRING. SGU DVD Cover Art Revealed

TVShowsOnDVD has posted the cover art for the DVD and Blu-ray box sets for the upcoming SGU Region 1 release on February 9, 2009. These 3-disc sets will contain episodes 1-10 out of 20 episodes of Season 1 of Stargate Universe. Shown is the DVD cover, while the Blu-ray has the typical blue bar across the top.

Amazon is offering pre ordering of the DVD version for $27.99, and the Blue-ray version for $38.99. This is a significant discount off the retail prices of $48.98 and $69.99, respectively.

We’ve come through it all with as much excitement and passion for the Stargate franchise as ever (Stargate: Universe, anyone?) and, as you can see from this new website, for now we’re focusing our efforts on an exciting new game for you Stargate fans, Stargate:Resistance. Combining the talents of all our developers, this 3rd-person action title pits teams of Stargate Command personnel against the System Lords and their minions in exhilarating real-time online battles. This new title is the fruit of what we’ve all worked on in the last few months.

The game focuses on three really exciting elements: fluid team-centric play (the classes support one another), fast-paced real-time combat, and wonderful maps designed specifically to bring these two sides into conflict through dynamic hand-to-hand and ranged combat.

Resistance brings to our fans the kind of gameplay SGW never planned to deliver. Resistance delivers the combat, weapons and tactics seen so often on the show that many of you have been asking for. I know this game will excite fans who have longed to go toe-to-toe with a Jaffa as well as those who always wanted to dominate the galaxy in ways the MMO could only hint at, and I’m proud to have been part of this team and prouder still that Firesky is bringing this product to you. Everyone working hard on this title is equally proud, and well they should be.

As well as building this new exciting product, paramount to Firesky’s long-term future is restoring your confidence and trust in us. While we’ve never lied to you about our circumstances, many times we were silent while our critics had their fun at our expense. We chose to remain quiet during those times, because, honestly, we often didn’t know what our future was day-to-day, sometimes even hour-to-hour. As a group we chose to not say anything until we knew something.

Moving forward, think of our relationship as one we need to re-build; imagine this conversation is the first one we have over a cup of coffee in Starbucks where I ask you to give us a chance to restore what we had and enjoyed together.

Continue to stick with us. I know you’ll enjoy the fast-paced action Resistance has in store for you while we continue to work towards SGW’s release.

What is Stargate Resistance?

Stargate Resistance is a team-based 3rd person shooter set in the Stargate universe. Players will join a team based on which faction they choose and go head- to-head against other players as they vie for control of the galaxy across different worlds.

What Platforms will it be on?

Stargate Resistance will be available on the PC only.

What are system requirements?

Minimum System Requirements
• Windows XP SP2 or Windows Vista
• 2.0+ GHZ Single Core Processor
• 512 Mbytes of System RAM
• NVIDIA 6200+ or ATI Radeon 9600+ Video Card
• 8 GB of Free Hard Drive Space

Every single episode of Stargate SG-1 is now on Hulu!

The 10th and final season of Stargate SG-1 is now available for free on Hulu! With the addition of Season Ten Hulu has finished a year long rollout for the show on the popular online TV website. All ten seasons an amazing 214 episodes of the show are available to watch for free. But it will only last till May 15, 2010.

Stargate SG-1 ran on Showtime from 1997 to 2002, then on SCI FI Channel (now Syfy) from 2002 to 2007. The series was followed by two direct-to-DVD movies.

Syfy Orders Second Season Of Stargate Universe

Syfy has ordered a second season of Stargate Universe. The renewal for StarGate Universe came quick with only half of the first season being aired so far, with the second 10 episodes not scheduled to start until April. Production on the first season has been complete for several weeks, and writers have been looking for an official word to start work on season 2.

UK Stargate Universe Premiere Tonight!

Hey there everyone, this is forum member AssassinsClaw who has recently accepted the task of posting some more stargate news to the site and keeping everyone as up-to-date as possible with all things Stargate.

so lets start with something quite important – the UK Stargate Universe Premiere!

now while our American breathren have already seen Air Parts 1 and 2, us UKadians have not yet been able to. This changes tonight as SGU will be premiering this Tuesday night at 8PM GMT on Sky 1. I, being a resident of the UK will certainly be watching it and hopefully now anyone who frequents the forums and the front page regularly from the UK will alson now know (looking at you Mike!)

so lets get this new series off with a bang and try and get as many people to watch the premiere, as Justin would say: tell you family, tell your friends, tell your enemies, tell everyone!

Device that controls the Stargate, more commonly known as the D.H.D. The dial-home device, constructed by the Ancients, has 38 of the 39 symbols on its Stargate (minus the point of origin), allowing the user to “dial” any desired destination. Despite the advanced technology, the device has a limited power supply.

Unlike the dialing computer, the D.H.D. does not require the inner track of the Stargate to unlock and spin in order to establish a wormhole. Instead, it is capable of “quick dialing,” where pressing the seven glyphs on the D.H.D. are all that are needed to open a gateway.

SCI FI Channel looking to premiere StarGate Universe on October 2

The SCI FI Channel may be looking at Friday, October 2 as the premiere date for Stargate Universe in the United States.

Sanctuary actress and executive producer Amanda Tapping told Pop Culture Zoo this week that the network wants to pair the second season of that show with Universe on Friday nights. “SCI FI wants us to air October 9th,” she told the site. “We will run concurrently with Stargate Universe. I think they premiere with a two-hour episode and then the following week we will run together.”

That would put “Air” Parts 1 and 2 as the premiere event on October 2, and “Air, Part 3″ on October 9.

Michael Shanks has a surprise about Stargate Universe

Stargate SG-1 star Michael Shanks (Dr. Daniel Jackson) revealed to SCI FI Wire that he may have a role in the pilot of SCI FI Channel’s upcoming new series Stargate Universe.

“I talked to [executive producer] Brad Wright a couple of weeks ago, and he asked me if I’d be interested in doing a cameo in the Universe pilot, and I of course said I would be,” Shanks said in an exclusive interview. “And there’s a great deal of talk about [it]. … They’ve got a script going and everything like that.”

Shanks added that he hasn’t put Dr. Jackson away completely yet. “There will be a Stargate SG-1 movie [for DVD], probably filmed around the same time the [Stargate] Atlantis movie is filmed this coming summer,” he added. “So that’s all going to be going on.”

Shanks played Jackson on and off for a decade in Stargate SG-1, as well as on the spinoff seriesStargate Atlantis and in the made-for-DVD movies The Ark of Truth and Continuum.

The next SG-1 movie, “as far as I know, is pretty Rick-heavy [as in Richard Dean Anderson], pretty O’Neill [Anderson]-heavy,” Shanks said. “So I don’t know much more than that, but I will most definitely be involved in it.”

Since SG-1 ended in 2007, Shanks has been busy with guest appearances on TV shows, including USA Network’s Burn Notice and the upcoming telemovies Living Out Loud and Desperate Escape (withAngel’s Elisabeth Rohm).

Shanks explained that it’s the ideal situation to be able to stay in the Stargate game without being tied to it as an everyday job. “It’s great,” he said. “After 10 years and getting not picked up or canceled or whatever you want to call it, it feels almost a little bit odd, because you’re so used to the process. But going away from it, it’s great to be able to explore other opportunities. When you’re doing a show for nine months a year, you always want to shake it up and do other things, but you don’t have the time. Now, it’s the best of both worlds. We can get on with it and have other experiences and still revisit the franchise and the great family environment that we have with the cast and crew. ‘The further adventures of …’ is a nice treat.”

New York, NY – January 16, 2009 – SCI FI Channel has announced Justin Louis, David Blue, Brian J. Smith and Jamil Walker Smith will join the cast of the highly anticipated new original series Stargate Universe. The four will enlist alongside Robert Carlyle (Dr. Nicholas Rush) in the latest adventure in the Stargate franchise produced by MGM television. Production will begin in Vancouver in February 2009 with an eye toward a fall ‘09 premiere.

Edgier and younger in tone than the two previous series, SGU follows a band of soldiers, scientists and civilians, who must fend for themselves as they are forced through a Stargate when their hidden base comes under attack. The desperate survivors emerge aboard an ancient ship, which is locked on an unknown course and unable to return to Earth.

Justin Louis (Hidden Hills, The Fighting Fitzgeralds) will portray Colonel Everett Young, an experienced Stargate team leader. Married, with years of tough decisions under his belt, life has taught him never to take anything for granted. He stays on top of his team so they stay alive.

David Blue (Ugly Betty, Moonlight) stars as Eli Wallace, a total slacker, who just happens to be an utter genius with anything he puts his mind to – mathematics, computers, video games. A lack of confidence has left him with an acerbic sense of humor.

Brian J. Smith (The War Boys, Hate Crime) is Lt. Matthew Scott, a junior member of the Stargate team. Green and rough around the edges, he is thrust into the role of leader well before he’s ready for the responsibility and must learn to command, earn respect through action, and manage the diverse personalities aboard the ship.

Jamil Walker Smith (Waynehead, Sister, Sister) will portray Sr. Sgt. Ronald Greer, a Marine with a temper you don’t want to mess with. His past is mysterious but it’s clear something dark formed the hard shell around him.

Brad Wright and Robert Cooper, of Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis, will serve as executive producers and writers on the new series.

Stargate Universe will debut as a two-hour movie event on SCI FI and will be distributed by MGM Worldwide Television Distribution.

Big Finish Launches Second Season in May

Big Finish Productions is launching its second season of six Stargate SG-1 andStargate Atlantis audio dramas (three episodes each) this May, and the first episode is the SG-1 story entitled “First Prime” by James Swallow, the same writer who brought “Shell Game” (SG-1) and “Zero Point” (SGA) last season.

The CD for “First Prime” is now available for pre-order at the publisher’s website(USD $14.53 + $0.74 shipping) and will most likely be offered for download as well (last year, downloads cost USD $8.99).

Christopher Judge reprises his role as Teal’c and Doctor Who veteran Noel Clarke makes his Stargate debut as the Jaffa Sebe’t. Set during Season Five, the story’s tagline reads, “Teal’c’s past as First Prime of Apophis comes back to haunt him when Colonel O’Neill and Daniel Jackson are taken captive by the system lord’s forces. As Teal’c struggles to free them, he finds himself confronted by an old friend and fellow Jaffa, Sebe’t. Can this warrior really be trusted? Or has Teal’c reopened an old wound that can never be healed?”

The audio drama runs approximately 70 minutes and features an original music soundtrack.

Stargate Universe Moved to Fall Premiere

Stargate Universe will premiere with two hours of the three-part opener “Air”, which is written by series creators Robert C. Cooper and Brad Wright. Filming the new show is expected to begin February 4, the show has been moved from a July Premiere to a fall premiere. Sci Fi Channel sets Ark of Truth television debut

More than a year after its initial release on DVD, Stargate: The Ark of Truth is finally gearing up for its American cable broadcast premiere on the SCI FI Channel. The film will hit television screens on Friday, March 27 at 9 p.m. (8 Central), immediately following a rebroadcast of the final episode of Battlestar Galactica.

Serving as a conclusion to the Ori storyline that was halted by the cancellation of SG-1 as a series, The Ark of Truth finds the team searching for an artifact that can stop the Ori and their followers once and for all. Along the way, they’ll discover another threat by an old enemy plus a traitor in their midst, and an unexpected source of help.
