Hey there everyone, this is forum member AssassinsClaw who has recently accepted the task of posting some more stargate news to the site and keeping everyone as up-to-date as possible with all things Stargate.

so lets start with something quite important – the UK Stargate Universe Premiere!

now while our American breathren have already seen Air Parts 1 and 2, us UKadians have not yet been able to. This changes tonight as SGU will be premiering this Tuesday night at 8PM GMT on Sky 1. I, being a resident of the UK will certainly be watching it and hopefully now anyone who frequents the forums and the front page regularly from the UK will alson now know (looking at you Mike!)

so lets get this new series off with a bang and try and get as many people to watch the premiere, as Justin would say: tell you family, tell your friends, tell your enemies, tell everyone!

The Quantum Mirror is a dimensional portal of unknown origin found on P3R-233, constructed of naquadah, capable of transporting individuals into an alternate reality. The mirror is controlled with a separate remote control, which allows the user to “dial” to different dimensions.  There were 2 contacts with parallel universes.  After the last contact General Hammond ordered the device destroyed.

Fans from across the globe will be uniting under one roof to celebrate the phenomenon of Stargate at this week’s Gatecon 2008. Nicknamed “The Family Reunion,” this popular charity-driven event will be returning to its originating city after two years abroad.

Guests scheduled to appear at this year’s event include Corin Nemec (“Jonas Quinn”), Cliff Simon (“Baal”), Gary Jones (“Sergeant Walter Harriman”), Colin Cunningham (“Major Paul Davis”) and a host of others.

The convention also welcomes newcomer Richard Dean Anderson (“General Jack O’Neill”) to this year’s festivities. Anderson’s public appearances have been strictly limited in the past, so his attendance at this event is a huge treat for fans.
