A Sad Day for StarGate Atlantis Fans
Posted on August 21st, 2008 by Justin Nolan
I just hear today that the Sci-Fi channel is going to cancel StarGate Atlantis at the end of its 5th season. Since the show is going to end with a cliffhanger they have green lit a 2 hour StarGate Atlantis made for TV movie. So we have that to look forward too.

I’m starting to think Sci Fi hates Stargate fans.
Just heard the news, I tend to agree with ErBear. But what in all honesty can your average fan do? When SG 1 was canceled tens of thousands signed the online petition, to what end? I just put it out there as a talking point. From a personal point of view i am very angry that Sci-Fi did not give it at least one more season, the show has plenty more to offer in terms of potential plot lines and stories.
From a very sad and disappointed UK fan
I, too, was very sad to hear about Atlantis being canceled since they are having a really good season so far and I was looking forward to the possibilities for another season. I thought it would get at least one more season.
I would like to throw all my anger at the SciFi channel since 90% of their programming sucks (don’t get me started on their Sat. night movies), but I think this was as much a MGM decision as SciFi to move forward with the new Stargate Universe show that was just greenlit.
I’m uncertain about this new show. Like others have been saying doesn’t sound very original…ST Voyager. I guess we’ll see.
Thanks for the podcast. It’s fun to hear other’s thoughts on my beloved Stargate SG-1.
Such a sad thing, just when the season was starting to get really good.
